De Lima has been in detention since February 2017 when the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed three drug cases against her in Muntinlupa courts. One of the three cases was dismissed by the court and two are pending.

“I welcome Ms. Sandra Cam's disclosure that she was also just used by those who persecuted and imprisoned me,” said De Lima in a statement.

She added, “As her former co-PDL inside the PNP Custodial Center, I have been a witness to her suffering, given her medical condition during her detention. I am glad that she now regrets her actions and for that I accept her apology.”

“We all have a chance at redemption. Hindi likas sa tao ang kasamaan. As I have said, I have long forgiven and left to God those who were used or allowed themselves to be used to spread lies against me,” said De Lima.

According to her, “Truth and Justice, no matter how long it takes, will always prevail. Salamat, Sandra.”
