Mayor Olivarez distributes aid to fire victims


Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez distributed cash assistance and relief goods to 43 families who were victims of a fire in Sitio Cubic Side, Barangay Merville on Sunday, Jan. 15.

Members of the 43 families or about 165 individuals are temporarily being sheltered at Merville Elementary School.

Aside from the cash assistance and food packs, the affected families were also given sacks of rice and hygiene kits.

According to reports, the fire broke out around 9:01 a.m. and was declared fire out around 10:58 a.m.

Olivarez assured the fire victims that the city government is always ready to extend assistance to them.

The mayor conducted an inspection at the fire scene and was briefed that the houses that were gutted by the fire were made of light materials.

The office of 1st District Representative Edwin Olivarez also extended assistance to the fire victims in the form of food packs and hygiene kits.
