The House of Committee on Transportation will continue its briefing on the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) New Year's day crisis on Wednesday morning, Jan. 18.
This was confirmed on Monday, Jan. 16 by the office of Antipolo City 2nd district Rep. Romeo Acop. Acop chairs the transportation panel.
It was last Tuesday, Jan. 10 when the committee held its initial briefing on the disastrous power outage at NAIA on Jan. 1 that caused the cancellation of over 400 flights. An estimated 65,000 passengers were affected.
Officials from the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), and NAIA attended the first briefing, which lasted six hours.
Expected to attend the Wednesday hearing are the same set of aviation and transportation officials, plus representatives of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

The DICT is the agency in charge of the "forensic investigation" on the tripped circuit breaker of NAIA's Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Systems for Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM)--the critical system that malfunctioned last Jan. 1.
Acop had earlier clarified that the briefing on the NAIA incident is not yet a full-blown legislative inquiry, since the House is technically still on recess.
House sessions will resume on Jan. 23.
