Superbon vs Allazov: Lito Adiwang picks his winner

Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang might not be returning to action this Saturday at ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov, but he’ll still keep a watchful eye on this event at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Adiwang was scheduled to return this weekend following a torn ACL, but he had to pull out after some nagging pain resurfaced.

Still, he’s especially interested in the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title main event between divisional king Superbon Singha Mawynn and Chingiz Allazov. Always a fan of the striking arts, Adiwang can’t wait for this fight.

“They’re both exciting and really good,” Adiwang said.

“They’re technical, skillful, but I still see Superbon having the edge, especially since this fight is in kickboxing and he’s adjusted his Muay Thai skills with his kickboxing.”

The Filipino admitted that he’s a big fan of Superbon, as he’s kept his eyes on the Thai superstar for a longtime.

Adiwang noted how Superbon maximizes everything, patiently waiting for his shots and taking advantage of his opponents’ mistakes.

It was in full display when he knocked out the greatest of all time - Giorgio Petrosyan - with a beautiful head kick to score the belt, and he continued to show his talents in his first title defense against Marat Grigorian.

Adiwang doesn’t expect things to be different this time. In fact, he expects Superbon to walk out of the Impact Arena still the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion.

“He moves so well, he transitions well from his set-up to power shots, he plays the game well. He just doesn’t throw bombs, he finds a hole, and maximizes it,” he said.

“The moment an opportunity opens up, he’ll throw a power shot, so I feel like Superbon will win here. I think he’ll find that hole and finish him via KO.”
