The coronation night of the 71st Miss Universe pageant hasn't started yet but it looks like the Philippines already won thanks to the works of Filipino fashion creatives that graced the stage of the pageant’s preliminary and national costume competitions. Miss Cambodia in Rian Fernandez
Rian Fernandez’s creation for Cambodia’s Manita Hang depicts the intertwined branches of the historical banyan tree. Its purple and blue colors represent royalty and serenity.

Ehrran Montoya created a dramatic red costume inspired by the flamenco dance for Alicia.

Patrick Isorena paid homage to the 1969 moon landing with his national costume for R’Bonney.
The 71st Miss Universe coronation night will take place on Jan. 14, 2023 (Jan. 15, 9 a.m. in the Philippines), at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. Last year’s winner, India’s Harnaaz Sandhu, will crown her successor by the end of the event.
