Classes, gov’t work suspended in Zamboanga City


ZAMBOANGA CITY – Mayor John Dalipe here ordered the suspension of classes on all levels and work at the city government on Wednesday, Jan. 11, due to inclement weather.

Dalipe made the announcement after several city streets experienced flooding due to strong rains early Wednesday morning.

Under Executive Order 2023-007, Dalipe ordered work in the local government unit suspended but offices doing essential work were directed to maintain a skeleton workforce.

Frontline offices were also directed to maintain an ample workforce for the possible augmentation of personnel for emergency response.

The suspension of work in national government and private offices were left to the discretion of their heads.
