Last Friday, the Noble Queens based in Manila gathered at the Windmills and Rainforest to throw a victory party for the newly crowned Noble Queen of the Universe Cristina Gonzalez Romualdez 2022.
Last year, it was Modoka Kudeken from Japan who was crowned Noble Queen Universe and according to Cristina, this year, it was a tough fight again between the Philippines and Japan. “The truth is I did not expect to win. When Patricia Javier asked me to join, I was like…no!!!! I’m too old for that and I’m not really the type that would join pageants but when I saw their advocacies and charity works, I was so impressed because it can give me an opportunity to serve more. I am so happy to meet new friends from different countries and share common goals. Thank you Noble Queen of the Universe for this opportunity," Cristina tells Gossip Girl.
Cristina took the same road I took to enter the Noble Queen International Competition. We were both Noble Queens of Visayas. Cristina adds: “I chose to represent Visayas because that was when I started getting involved with different advocacies. After Yolanda, Tacloban was so down economically and emotionally. When I became mayor of Tacloban, I created livelihood training projects for women. These were short courses so they could work and make a living immediately. We have over 20,000 graduates. I also created a group to teach women awareness to protect abused women and children. With my crown and my new sisters, I know I can create more advocacies to empower women. I know that my celebrity sisters who are Noble Queens as well like you Giselle Sanchez (Noble Queen International 2020), Jaycee Parker (Noble Queen International 2021) and Patricia Javier (Noble Queen Universe 2019) and our other Noble Queens can help me create more awareness for abused women and children and how to stop this abuse.”
Other winners in the pageant held at Tokyo Prince Hotel in Japan were Noble Queen International Leira Buan (Ambassador Queen of Respect and Best in Long Gown), Noble Queen Globe Yuko Noguchi of Japan (Ambassador Queen of Health & Wellness), Noble Queen Earth Sheralene Shirata (Ambassador Queen of Environment and Best in National Costume), Noble Queen Tourism Jenny Miglioretto (Ambassador of Integrity), and Noble Queen of the Universe Ltd Marjorie Renner of USA (Ambassador Queen of Goodwill).
