BACOLOD CITY -- Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy inaugurated the P1.5 million road project he donated to Alangilan National High School (ANHS) here on Friday, Jan. 6.
Veneranda Ortono, former officer-in-charge of ANHS, said that Koy donated P1.593 million in August 2022 for the construction of a 589-meter road project inside the school’s premises, which was completed in December.
Ortono said that Koy also funded the ongoing construction of a library at Rafael Alunan Elementary School in Barangay Alangilan.
Koy rose to fame after sharing stories and antics of his Filipina mother in his comedy acts.
He is here for a quick trip to his ‘sister’s hometown.’
