This was shared by House Speaker Martin Romualdez following his arrival back to the country with President Marcos. Romualdez was part of Marcos's official delegation to China during the latter's state visit drom Jan. 3 to 5.

"After this state visit, our President invited President Xi Jinping and his wife first lady, First Lady Peng Liyuan, to come to the Philippines," Romualdez said Thursday afternoon, Jan. 5.

"This type of exchanges promotes deeper and healthier relationships because trust and confidence with one, another is built up and also we also look forward," he said.

While Romualdez didn't give a date for the Chinese First Couple's visit, he said that it might happen sooner than later.

The Leyte 1st district congressman cited the obvious "chemistry" between the two First Ladies as reason.

"From the looks of it, I think that might be forthcoming because they actually enjoyed each other's company and that's of the respective First Lady Louisa Araneta Marcos and the First Lady Peng, went very well," he said.

"You can see that there was chemistry right from the start," he noted.

Romualdez is arguably the top ally of President Marcos in the legislature.
