US advisory on NAIA's inadequate security rehashed

The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) clarified on Thursday, Jan. 5, that the advisory supposedly coming from the United States Department of Homeland Security that warns Americans of the inadequate security at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was old and was already addressed.

The OTS was reacting to the advisory that is reportedly circulating now on social media.

It said the advisory was issued in December 2018 and has since been removed from airports in the US.

"Philippine airport authorities have continued working together with the US and other foreign counterparts to improve the overall status of security at the country’s international gateways," the OTS statement read.
