He cited his personnel for a "job well done" after the BJMP recorded "zero" untoward incidents such as jailbreaks, commotions, and escape attempts as the agency welcomed the New Year.

Iral also commended the BJMP personnel for their vigilance and sacrifice for rendering duty and enduring being away from their families amid the New Year’s celebration to guard persons deprived of liberty (PDL) and secure jail facilities throughout the holiday season.

“Maraming salamat sa mga disiplinado kong kasamahan sa BJMP sa kanilang matiyagang pagtitiyak ng kaayusan at katahimikan sa lahat ng mga pasilidad sa bansa (My deepest gratitude to my disciplined BJMP co-workers for their perseverance in ensuring the country’s peace and order in all jail facilities nationwide),’’ Iral said.

Before the New Year celebration, Iral visited the jail facilities in Calabarzon (Region 4A) to check the orderliness of jails in handling visitors.

During the inspection, Iral reminded the BJMP personnel on duty to exercise extreme efforts to beef up their security to prevent any jail incidents.

“I’m happy that all of our 478 district, city and municipal jails recorded zero incidents as we welcome the year 2023. I hope we could maintain this throughout the year,” he added.
