More than P16-M ‘shabu’ seized in Malabon City


Malabon City Police Station (MCPS) personnel confiscated a total of P16,184,000 worth of alleged shabu and arrested a man in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tugatog, Malabon City on Saturday, Dec. 31.

The MCPS identified the suspect as Noel Herrera, 56, a resident of Barangay Niugan, Malabon City. .

Police said operatives of the MCPS-Station Drug Enforcement Unit led by Lt. Alexander Dela Cruz conducted the entrapment against Herrera along Pureza St., Brgy. Tugatog at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The suspect yielded one eco-bag containing two kilograms and 380 grams of alleged shabu valued at P16,184,000, a digital weighing scale, a driver’s license, and the buy-bust money.

The confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Northern Police District Forensic Unit in Caloocan City for examination. The suspect is now detained at the MCPS Custodial Facility.

Herrera will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale, Trading, Administration, Dispensation, Delivery, Distribution, and Transportation of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Percursors and Essential Chemicals) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
