The INC celebrated its 108th anniversary last July 27.

Leyte 4th district Rep. Richard Gomez motioned on Monday night, Aug. 8 to adopt House Resolution (HR) 185, which was authored by House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe, Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos, and Tingog Party-list representatives Yedda Romualdez and Jude Acidre.

This led to the plenary's adoption of the measure.

"Through the leadership of its present Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Church (INC) continues to progress and succeed, and its membership has constantly been growing," read a provision in HR 185.

"For demonstrating responsiveness to the needs of the poor and marginalized, providing job opportunities and gainful employment to many, members and non-members alike, and instilling good values, it is but fitting to join the INC in commemorating its 108th founding anniversary," it concluded.

The authors added that a copy of HR 185 would be submitted to leaders of INC.
