FASHION PULIS: Cold looks

Published Aug 6, 2022 03:46 pm

No detail escapes eagle-eyed netizens when it comes to the behavior of celebrities.

Thus, when a celebrity seems to be off with his/her expressions or gestures, speculations emerge and social media raises a lot of questions.

When Female Celebrity (FC) dazzles onlookers with her looks, no one is surprised as FC never fails to shine when fashion is the name of the game. Much is expected from FC and she always delivers.

Equally fashionable is Dapper Gentleman (DG), who stands next to her. However, something seemed off the last time the two were seen together. FC looked stern, which was a contrast to DG’s amiable disposition.

Netizens noticed FC held on to the deadpan look even with people around her and DG. The icy atmosphere seemed to reverberate throughout their photos.

Thus, netizens and even other media personalities started to speculate if all is well. Is their fairy tale showing cracks already? Or was it just an off-night that was interpreted to mean something is amiss?

Still, the story goes as far as FC allegedly leaving home to check in at a hotel.

So far, FC has not reacted to the gossip, and perhaps, no one has yet dared to ask if things are indeed going fine in their relationship.

Hard Slap

Other than the stars of a series or a movie, a drawing factor that keeps viewers hooked is the execution of physical scenes. Given that the usual formula of local teleseryes involves high emotions, a level of violence is often simulated. In the case of a project that had women characters, rivalry could escalate from fiery dialogue to slap or fight scenes.
To make slapping scenes believable, actors rehearse to avoid unnecessary hurt and if they can do it smoothly by cheating. Camera angles and good coordination add to the believability of a slap.
Sometime ago, alleged sentiments of Female Talent (FT) over a scene with Another Talent (AT) were talked about in social media. The scene called for a slap coming from AT. FT prepared herself for the scene and was confident that the execution would be done well without pain. Unfortunately, FT received a hard one and felt the slap was too real.
Apparently, that take was not just done once and even if FT said that the slap was already too hard, AT continued with the same intensity. FT’s face was already bruised. In acting, professionalism is expected and FT calmed herself down despite the pain.

‘The true mark of professionalism is the ability to respect everyone else for their styles and always find something positive in every dining experience and highlight it in your thoughts and words.’ − Johnny Iuzzini
