Actor Ping Medina shared on social media some clips of his dad, veteran star Pen Medina.
"WALK SOON DADDYOW! LOVE YOU," the text in one of the videos read.
There, Pen could be seen doing some exercises.
Recall that recently, Ping's brother, Alex, asked followers for help for their ailing father.
According to him, their 71-year-old dad has been in the hospital for weeks and cannot sit or stand up due to Degenerative Disc Disease.
"As you age, the soft disks between your vertebrae begin to dry out and shrink. This narrows the space between the vertebrae, which makes the spine less stable and decreases its flexibility. This can cause pain, weakness or numbness," the text on the Mayo Clinic site read.
There are two common surgical options - Laminectomy, the "surgery that creates space by removing the lamina — the back part of a vertebra that covers the spinal canal" or Spinal fusion, which is a "surgery to permanently connect two or more vertebrae in spine, eliminating motion between them."
Alex said Pen is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, July 19.
