“Ga pamatuod lang ini nga wala naton ginaabusaran ang paggamit sang pondo sang gobyerno (This proves that we do not abuse governing funding),” said Guimaras Gov. Samuel Gumarin.
The DILG Good Financial Housekeeping is a citation given to local government units (LGUs) that have passed the guidelines set by Commission on Audit (COA) in possessing sound fiscal management, transparency, and accountability.
The citation also means that the provincial government of Guimaras qualified for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
The Gumarin administration is looking forward to earning the SGLG, which can pave the way for getting the Performance Challenge Fund, which augments budget to the provincial government for either infrastructure or socio-economic projects.
Meanwhile, the local government of Sibunag, Guimaras also earned a Good Financial Housekeeping citation.
