CHED cites University of Caloocan City for program compliance

The University of Caloocan City (UCC) was recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) after all its courses were awarded with Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC), the Caloocan City government announced on Monday, April 25.

The COPC is awarded to universities that comply with the policies, standards and rules of CHED to ensure that students get quality education.

Ms. Marilyn De Jesus, UCC officer-in-charge, told Manila Bulletin that all of the 22 programs under the university’s four colleges (Criminology, Education, Business, and Liberal Arts) received the COPC.

She said they make sure that all the facilities in UCC are fixed/renovated, manpower (teachers and other personnel) is complete, and all the documents required by CHED for the program compliance are updated.

De Jesus said that the university’s first COPC was awarded by CHED during the term of Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan.

Malapitan congratulated and thanked the UCC teachers, leaders, and students.

"Isang malaking karangalan muli ito para sa UCC at sa Lungsod ng Caloocan. Hindi natin ito maaabot kung wala ang mga taong nasa likod ng tagumpay na ito. Salamat sa pagsama sa akin sa adhikaing makapagbigay ng libre at dekalidad na edukasyon para sa bawat batang Caloocan (This is a great honor once again for UCC and Caloocan City. We could not achieve this without the people behind this success. Thank you for joining me in the quest to provide every Caloocan child with free and quality education)," Malapitan said.
