Korean drama ‘Our Blues’ premieres at No. 1 in the ratings


The new Korean drama “Our Blues” aired its first episode on April 9 on top of the ratings in South Korea.

“Our Blues” premiered on tvN in South Korea and streamed on Netflix. The drama tells “the comforting story of people who are faced with different aspects of their lives peak, bottom, or beginning. An omnibus drama based on warm, lively Jeju Island and its rough, cold sea with ordinary but different people and their beautiful lives.”

It stars “Squid Game” actor Lee Byung-hun, “Hometown Cha-cha-cha” actress Shin Min-a and her real-life boyfriend, actor Kim Woo-bin, Cha Seung-won, “Parasite” actress Lee Jung-eun, Han Ji-min and Uhm jung-hwa.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Our Blues” on April 9 topped the ratings among cable TV shows nationwide and the Seoul metropolitan area in South Korea.

Nationwide, “Our Blues” premiered with a rating of 7.324 percent to emerge as No. 1. It was viewed by 1.84 million nationwide (No.1).

In addition, the drama garnered a rating of 8.107 percent in the Seoul metropolitan area and was viewed by 991,000 people.

“Our Blues” is directed by Kim Kyu-tae who helmed the dramas “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” “Secret Love “ “It's Okay, That's Love,” “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” and “Live.”

Its writer is Noh Hee-kyung whose credits include the dramas “Live,” “The Most Beautiful Goodbye,” “Dear My Friends,” “It's Okay, That's Love,” “That Winter, the Wind Blows” and “Padam Padam.”

“Our Blues” airs every Saturday and Sunday on tvN and Netflix.
