3 Muntinlupa barangays now Covid-19-free


As the number of Covid-19 cases continues to decrease in the country, three of the nine barangays in Muntinlupa now have zero cases.

Data from the City Health Office (CHO) showed that as of March 10, Muntinlupa only has 22 active cases including four new Covid-19 cases, four recoveries and zero deaths.

Muntinlupa has 39,843 confirmed cases, 39,207 recoveries and 614 deaths since the pandemic started in 2020 resulting in 22 active cases.

Of the nine barangays, three are now Covid-19 free. These are Barangays Bayanan, Buli and Sucat which recorded zero active cases.

As of March 10, Buli, the smallest barangay, has 787 confirmed cases, 768 recoveries and 19 deaths to bring its active cases to zero. Sucat has 3,500 confirmed cases, 3,446 recoveries and 54 deaths.

Of the 22 active cases, Barangays Tunasan and Alabang have five each; Ayala Alabang has four; Poblacion and Cupang have three each; and Putatan has two.

In the last seven days, Muntinlupa’s average number of active cases totaled 27 per day. The city recorded 35 active cases on March 4 followed by 32 on March 5, 28 on March 6, 26 on March 7, 23 on March 8, 23 on March 9 and 22 on March 10.

The Muntinlupa City government has been ramping up its vaccination program. As of March 5, there are 451,790 fully vaccinated individuals in Muntinlupa, or 118 percent of the target population of 383,021.

As of March 9, a total of 36,465 minors aged 12 to 17 years old have been fully vaccinated or 66 percent of the target population of 55,391 for the age group.

Among five to 11 years old, 3,833 are now fully vaccinated or six percent of the target population of 68,198.
