In celebration of Rizal Day, the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 3 is offering free rides tomorrow, Friday, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am, and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The holiday commemorates the 126th year of martyrdom of national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, who was executed at Bagumbayan, present-day Luneta Park, Manila.
"The free ride is MRT 3's way of being at one with the nation in remembering Rizal Day," according to MRT-3 General Manager Engr. Federico J. Canar, Jr.
Meanwhile, MRT 3 continues to implement strict health and safety protocols along its railway line to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Passengers are still required to wear face masks and are forbidden to converse with each other or talk on their phones inside the coaches.
Eating and drinking are prohibited. Passengers should have appropriate physical distancing and those with COVID 19 symptoms are forbidden to board the train.
