Las Piñas' School Division office holds 2022 Gawad Sikhay Award

The Las Piñas Schools Division Office (SDO) held the 2022 Gawad Sikhay Awards in recognition of the exemplary performance of employees of the Department of Education (DepEd) on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

The awarding ceremony for the outstanding DepEd employees composed of teachers, principals, and non-teaching employees was held at the STI Las Piñas Auditorium, Barangay Pamplona III.

The Gawad Sikhay is an annual search of the SDO Las Piñas to recognize the tireless efforts of both teaching and non-teaching personnel who exhibited superior performance while also demonstrating strong work ethic and commitment to service.

Vice-Mayor April Aguilar gave an inspirational message to the awardees, the first to be conducted face-to-face after more than two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Aguilar said the theme “Rising with Excellence” is already a connotation that DepEd employees continue to give better services despite th challenges facing them.

She said the changes and adjustments made by teachers, principals, and non-teaching personnel to sustain the city's educational system prove that they can excel if they will persevere.
