BAGUIO CITY -- Three members of the Acetylene Gang were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera on the night of December 26 in Sitio Piripin Bato, Barangay Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
PDEA Regional Director Gil Castro identified those arrested as Brookelyne Calion Bitao/Brooklyn Tianga, Jacob Gamsao Ayeona and Joel Santillan, all residents of Sitio Piripin Bato, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
According to Castro, Brookelyne is the wife of David Bitao, known leader of the acetylene gang involved in several bank robberies.
According to the report, the suspects were being monitored for a long time in their house which is said to be a drug den too, so a buy-bust operation was immediately conducted by PDEA and personnel of the Benguet Provincial Police Office.
Recovered from the suspects were six plastic sachets containing shabu more or less 20 grams of shabu worth P146,167.36, a brown vial containing 30ml of liquid suspected to be marijuana oil worth P5,943.637; assorted drug paraphernalia; boodle money and identification cards.
