BTS’ RM’s ‘Indigo’ rises to No. 3 on Billboard 200 


Grammy nominated group BTS’ leader RM’s solo album reentered the Billboard 200, jumping to No. 3.

“Indigo,” released on Dec. 2, grabbed the No. 3 spot on the Dec. 31-dated Billboard 200 chart, according to Billboard based on Luminate data.

This made him the “first member of BTS to earn a solo top 10 album on the Billboard 200.”

RM’s album debuted at No. 15 on the Dec. 17-dated chart with 31,000 equivalent album units.

In the latest Billboard 200 chart, “Indigo” earned 83,000 equivalent album units after a CD version was released on Dec. 16.

Of the 83,000 EAU earned, 79,000 were album sales while streaming equivalent albums (SEA) totaled 4,000, or 5.3 million on-demand official streams of the album’s songs.

CD sales of “Indigo” for the week ending Dec. 22 total 77,500 while digital album sales were 1,500.

“The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA),” according to Billboard.

It added, “Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.”
