Valenzuela gov’t announces updated Covid-19 vax schedule in public parks


The local government of Valenzuela City announced on Monday, Dec. 26, the updated schedule of the Covid-19 vaccinations at three of the city’s public parks.

The city government will be conducting vaccinations against the disease for kids, teens, adults, and senior citizens at the Valenzuela People’s Park, Tagalag Mini Park, and Walang Pulo Sports Park starting Tuesday, Dec. 27 until Thursday, Dec. 29.

Residents may get their first and second Covid-19 vaccine doses as well as their first booster shot (for ages 12 and up) and second booster shots (for 18 years old and above, frontliner healthworkers, senior citizens, immunocompromised adults, and adults with commorbidities).

Vaccinations at Valenzuela People’s Park will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 27-28, and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Dec. 29.

Individuals who want to get inoculated against Covid-19 may visit Tagalag Mini Park on Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wawang Pulo Sports Park will be open for Covid-19 innoculations on Wednesday, Dec. 28 (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and on Thursday, Dec. 29 (8:30 a.m. to 12 noon).

The vaccine recipients should bring a valid government-issued identification card, their vaccination/booster cards, a medical certificate for immunocompromised individuals, and birth certificate for minors.

The updated schedule was announced after the the city government cancelled the Covid-19 vaccination activities in the parks and barangay health stations, as well as operations in its offices on Dec. 26, in line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s Proclamation No. 115 declaring the said day as a special non-working holiday.

Meanwhile, the city government earlier announced that its offices, including barangay health stations will be closed from Dec. 30, 2022 to Jan. 2, 2023 in observance of the upcoming holidays.

It said that the disaster, emergency, and Covid-19 response offices will remain operational on the said dates.

As of Thursday, Dec. 22, the city government listed 99 Covid-19 actives out of its 48, 220 cumulative confirmed cases with 47,114 recoveries and 1,007 deaths.
