Ospital ng Muntinlupa opens new building; outstanding employees feted


Ospital ng Muntinlupa, the city-run hospital located in Alabang, opened a new four-storey extension building that increased its bed capacity.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon led the inauguration of the new building together with Rep. Jaime Fresnedi, Vice Mayor Temy Simundac, city councilors, and city department heads.

The inauguration coincided with the 105th founding anniversary of Muntinlupa recently.

"We are grateful to the Department of Public Works and Highways for helping us complete this important project," said Biazon.

The new OsMun extension building also has additional facilities to treat patients and its inauguration is intended for the opening of the new Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa-Ospital ng Muntinlupa College of Medicine.

According to Dr. Edwin Dimatatac, OsMun hospital director, the new extension building increased authorized beds from 206 to 250, in addition to outpatient department clinics, five operating room theaters and 15 intensive care unit (ICU) beds.

Coinciding with Muntinlupa’s founding anniversary, the city government feted outstanding city employees, retiring employees and councilors who are graduating under the current term.

The outstanding employees are Rose Sharon Sorolla, rank 1; Britt Villapando, rank 2; and Jia Claire Matnog, rank 3.

The finalists were Roberto Unira, Junievien Leyte, Ramel Batan, Cyrill Chester Param, Mary Grace Montoya, Sarah Jean Cummings, Don Frederick Arciaga, John Russel Benavidez and Christian Mark San Juan.

The retiring city employees were:

Fernando S. Arquero - 22 years

Thelma B. Vasquez - 26 years

Ermie A. Takeda - 27 years
