While others were spreading messages of hope and togetherness on their Facebook feed ahead of Christmas, Albay 2nd district Rep. Joey Salceda chose to go another route and posted a "hugot" line instead.
In a post on Saturday, Christmas eve, Dec. 24, Salceda waxed somewhat moody and wrote "Pagmamahal lang ang kaya kong ibigay (Love is all that I can give)."
The Bicol solon was seemingly alluding to the incessant solicitations for gifts that have become a meme this holiday season.
But Salceda was neither being irritable nor stingy--a closer inspection on the comments section of his post showed him gamely exchanging with netizens on the subject of pamasko or Christmas gifts.
Christmas is a time of giving after all, and to a lot of people, their Cong Joey is also their Santa.
