After announcing their most awaited reunion concert in September, the '90s alternative rock band Eraserheads gave their fans an early Christmas gift.

The band's original frontman Ely Buendia performed with his bandmates Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala, and Raymund Marasigan at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Paranaque City last Dec. 22.

Their last concert was staged in 2008, but it was cut short after Ely had to be rushed to the hospital for chest pains. This year's reunion concert featured some of the most iconic songs, including "With A Smile," "Magasin," "Ligaya," and "Spolarium."

Aside from the live event, music fans also watched the concert online. They were also updated with the following performances on Twitter with the handle @HulingElBimbo22 and the hashtags #HulingElBimbo2022 and #Eraserheads2022.

The reunion concert got even more exciting when they opened the first set with the song "Superproxy" with Elmo and Eon, which featured a hologram of Francis M. Gary Valenciano also joined the band and sang "Christmas Party" on the second set.

From the biggest musical guests, celebrities and media personalities such as Vice Ganda, Ion Perez, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Karylle, Aiko Melendez, Beauty Gonzalez, and Andre Yllana also enjoyed the concert.

Aside from celebrating the reunion concert, the night was also memorable as a member of the audience named Christian Mike Dugayo proposed to his girlfriend Maria Arche Jacob Ludovice while the band perfoemed "With A Smile" on stage.

The couple has been together for eight years. Christian uploaded the memorable moment on Facebook writing a caption: "She said Yes! Salamat sa pagmamahal mo sakin babe sa loob ng 8 taon. Maikli lang ang buhay kaya wala na dapat panahon na sayangin. Iloveyou."

Eraserheads ended the much-awaited reunion concert with their popular song "Ang Huling El-Bimbo" under the direction of Paolo Valenciano.

The four-hour show ended with visually appealing fireworks at the back of the stage while the fans sang along.
