Police net P2-M shabu in Tacloban buy-bust


TACLOBAN CITY – Police are still in pursuit of a man who yielded over P2-million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation here recently.

A total of 300 grams of shabu were purchased from the suspected drug pushers, Arnold Lanonte Froilan, 26, a resident of Barangay 71, this city; and Raul Yarso, 49, also a resident of Barangay 71.

Froilan, a fish vendor, was arrested but Yarso managed to evade arrest.

Police seized from the suspects a heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu; a belt bag containing four knot-tied transparent plastic of alleged shabu, and over P20,000 cash.

These were placed under the custody of the Tacloban City Drug Enforcement Unit for proper disposition.

Suspects will be charged for violations of Sections 5 and 11 (possession and sale) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
