PDEA hands out over P11M cash reward to 4 drug tipsters


The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) distributed on Monday, Dec. 19, a total of P11,209,089.85 in cash rewards to its civilian informants.

PDEA top officials commended the informants identified through their codenames Mala, Denver, dream and Mambo for providing vital tips leading to the successful conduct of anti-drug operations, confiscation of voluminous amounts of illegal drugs and arrest of high-value targeted drug personalities under the PDEA “Operation: Private Eye”.

The Operation Private Eye Rewards Committee, composed of members from the academe, non-government organizations, law enforcement, religious and business sectors approved a resolution granting the monetary rewards to the four qualified informants for the fourth quarter of calendar year 2022 after careful deliberation.

The largest reward, a total of P6 million, was given to Mambo who provided information to the PDEA Intelligence Service in three separate instances, all resulting in the successful anti-drug operations, namely:

1. The seizure of 77,964.34 grams of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride and the arrest of two (2) drug personalities during a buy-bust operation inside a condominium unit along Brgy. Barangka-Ilaya Mandaluyong City on December 27, 2021.

2. The seizure of 59,649.03 grams of shabu and the arrest of a drug personality during a buy-bust operation at kilometer 23, Barangay Lias, Marilao, Bulacan on March 2, 2022.

3. he seizure of 159,300.33 grams of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride and the arrest of two (2) drug personalities during a buy-bust operation at 22-B J.P. Rizal Street, Arty Subdivision, Barangay Karuhatan, Valenzuela City on March 8, 2022.

Apart from informant Mambo, the other confidential informants Mala received P1,209,089.85 for providing information to the PDEA RO-NCR Manila District Office that resulted in the seizure of 15,013.43 grams of shabu and the arrest of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation at CCP Bay Terminal Parking Lot, Barangay 720, Malate, Manila on July 4, 2022.

Informant Denver was awarded ₱2,000,000 for providing information to the NBI-TFAID resulting in the seizure of 1,585,251.24 grams of shabu and the arrest of 10 drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Comon, Infanta, Quezon on March 15, 2022.

“Finally, informant Dream got P2,000,000.00 for providing information to the PDEA Intelligence Service resulting to the seizure of 37,962.50 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride and the neutralization of four drug personalities during a buy-bust operation at Block 8 Lot 21 Gladiola St., Phase II Punta Verde Subdivision, Barangay Pulung Cacutud, Angeles City, Pampanga on October 18, 2021,’’ PDEA said.

Operation Private Eye (OPE) is PDEA’s long standing citizen-based information collection program designed to encourage the active participation of private citizens to report illegal drug activities in their communities.
