MB Daily News Update: Reds say no to holiday truce


Not even the death of its founder Jose Ma. Sison could keep the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) from flexing its muscle by declaring that it was not going to observe any truce during the holidays, and even ordered its military arm – the New People’s Army (NPA) – to intensify attacks against government forces.

As such, police and military forces will be on alert, especially on Dec. 26, 2022, when the party celebrates its 54th anniversary.
