Malaysian nabbed in Zamboanga City buy-bust

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities arrested a 22-year-old Malaysian and seized suspected shabu valued at P68,000 in a buy-bust operation in Upper Calarian here last Friday, Dec. 16.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency identified the suspect as Imran Bin Muhalir, alias “Imran Bin Muhazir,” businessman, and an elementary school graduate.

Investigation showed that Muhalir had addresses in Zamboanga City and Tubig Basag, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

His identification card showed that he is a Malaysian citizen who lives in Semporna, Sabah, Malaysia.

Authorities tagged the suspect as a high-value drug target here who had been travelling back and forth from Malaysia to the Philippines to deal illegal drugs.

He was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-9 and Zamboanga Police-City Drug Enforcement Unit.

Muhalir yielded 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000, Malaysian citizenship documents identifying him as Imran Bin Muhalir, a wallet with ringgit currency, and an identification card.

Seized shabu was brought to the Zamboanga City PNP laboratory for examination.
