Cop stabbed to death by wife in Leyte


TACLOBAN CITY -- A 47-year-old police officer was stabbed to death by his wife on Saturday, Dec. 17, in Palo, Leyte.

The victim was identified as Staff Sgt. Kerwin Pasana, assigned to the Regional Headquarters Support Unit in Palo.

Initial investigation disclosed that suspect Ronalyn, 33, armed with a kitchen knife, confronted Kerwin after he arrived home past midnight, resulting in an altercation.

At the height of the dispute, the suspect repeatedly stabbed the victim in the right upper portion of his thigh.

The victim’s brother who lived next door heard the commotion and checked on the couple.

He discovered his brother lying on the floor unconscious and the suspect sitting beside him.

The kitchen knife was recovered by responding barangay tanods or watchmen and turned over to policemen along with the suspect.

Kerwin was taken to the Leyte Provincial Hospital (LPH) in Palo where he was declared dead.

Ronalyn was taken to the Palo Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
