BACOLOD CITY – A newly constructed three-story police station was inaugurated recently in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
Mayor Gina Lizares and Col. Leo Pamittan, Negros Occidental police director, led the unveiling of the standard city police station building on Monday, Dec. 12.
Lt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said the Philippine National Police (PNP) allocated P32 million for the project.
The building was built on a lot donated by the city government at the back of the City Hall in Barangay Gil Montilla. Catalogo said the construction of the building was completed after more than a year.
Based on specifications, a standard city police station has a building defense, receiving area, big conference room, comfort rooms, and enough offices for personnel, Catalogo said.
“Finally, the long wait is over. Sipalay cops have a new home,” Lizares said in her message.
The city police force is now occupying the fully furnished building. Their erstwhile building will be utilized by the city government for other offices, Catalogo said.
Sipalay City is the third locality on the city level in the province to have a standard police building, after Talisay and Escalante.
The towns of San Enrique, Valladolid, Hinoba-an, Pontevedra, and Toboso also have a standard police building on the municipal level.
