Saying that it was the best Christmas gift that any President could ever get, President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. signed the country’s highest-ever national budget, which was swiftly passed by Congress without the usual snags and delays that used to mark the budget-making process.
A survey conducted by the OCTA Research Group showed that a huge majority of Filipinos have given the government the thumbs-up for its response to the Covid-19 threat in the country.
The same research group also said the Covid-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila has slightly dropped to 14.3 percent.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that the start of the traditional “simbang gabi” was generally peaceful as devotees returned to attend the dawn mass after an absence of two years due to the pandemic.
