Tiaong Christmas Meaksyon Agad Village draws hundreds of residents during formal opening


TIAONG, Quezon – The first ever Tiaong Christmas Meaksyon Agad Village drew hundreds of people as it formally opened on Thursday evening, Dec. 15, at St. John The Baptist Patio here.

The Christmas village is in collaboration with Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea and the Catholic parish church here.

Mayor Mea himself graced the formal opening of the town’s Christmas village on the day coinciding with the first day of Simbang Gabi.

Municipal employees, members of the Sangguniang Bayan and village officials joined Mayor Mea in a parade on the main streets before the formal opening of the Christmas village.

The Christmas village is open until January 7, 2023, with a few restrictions and health protocols to follow for the safety of the goers and orderly and cleanliness, said Mayor Mea.

The town mayor also took time to remind the people of the concerted effort of the LGU and the Parish Church leaders of St. John The Baptist led by Rev. Fat. Erwin Baruelo in inculcating the Catholics values and spiritual meaning of celebrating the Christmas season.

"Nagsisimula pa lang tayo at hindi ko ito magagawa kung hindi tayo magtutulungan," said Mea.

Residents may visit the village and feel the atmosphere of the Nativity of spirit of the season highlighted with snow machines showers and fireworks displays.

During the opening, the official Christmas song of Tiaong produced locally, performed and participated by LGU employees led by Mayor Mea was also launched in an audio visual presentation (AVP).

Lady councilor Eula Lopez was also there in the program wherein she assured that the LGU is always ready to serve the constituents.
