Gabriela Party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas, ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro, and Kabataan Party-list Rep. Raoul Manuel filed for this purpose House Resolution (HR) No.644.

Under the measure, an investigation in aid of legislation is sought from the House Committees on Women and Gender Equality and on the Welfare of Children on the Quiboloy's alleged sex trafficking, rape, and physical abuse of women and children.

"It is imperative for the Philippine government and agencies, to commence and investigation on the slew of charges lodged against Quiboloy and immediately prevent the possible continuing offenses committed by Quiboloy and his cohorts against women and children," the resolution read.

It added that "The legislative branch of the government cannot afford to stand idle in the face of the mounting allegations" against the church leader.

Quiboloy's cases grabbed headlines anew after the US Department of Treasury blocked all US-based transactions and properties connected to the pastor, effectively freezing his assets.

The militant solons recalled that a federal grand jury in the US District Court for the Central District of California, Santa Ana, California indicted Quiboloy in November 2021.
