EY Global Delivery Services PH ramps up capabilities

EY Global Delivery Services (EY GDS) Philippines, a member of a growing integrated network of service delivery centers, is ramping up its capabilities to support global EY stakeholders and strengthen the delivery of services to member firms of EY around the world.

It is actively recruiting more talents to join the group, especially those looking to enrich their careers with significant and exciting opportunities for growth and development.

EY GDS in the Philippines has over 5,000 experienced professionals and subject-matter professionals across technology, transformation, and strategy roles who experience this strategic flexibility.

EY GDS provides innovative, scalable, and customized business services to EY member firms. Strategic flexibility is the first of three essential ingredients of having a great workplace culture.

“We already had a flexible ‘work where needed’ work culture even before the pandemic, and this has helped us successfully transition to remote working during the pandemic,” said Nitin Dhavale, Location Leader at EY GDS Philippines.

“From an employee’s point of view, this flexibility has presented a sustainable opportunity to balance work and well-being,” said Dhavale.

Besides strategic flexibility’s positive impact on individual well-being, it has exponentially improved collaboration at EY GDS as the company deepened its accommodation of a purposeful hybrid work setup.

“We are growing rapidly and have employees located around the country who work with experienced project teams across time zones and geographies. It’s important to be open to flexible yet disciplined ways of working to ensure productivity,” Dhavale said.

But, creating a great work culture and making flexibility and the hybrid setup work for a company like EY GDS also requires a second ingredient—empowering employees.

To achieve this, Dhavale said they provide an exceptional work experience, but this isn’t something that just happens. EY GDS provides personalized opportunities aligned to advance tech knowledge, learning and mentorship, and providing programs that support a diverse and inclusive culture.

“We support our employees to be intentional about their careers. We enable them to seek the engagement, learning, skills, impact, and leadership behaviors that will help them build the career they want and a better working world for themselves and others,” he said.

The third essential ingredient of a great workplace culture is cultivating and reinforcing a sense of belonging, to which a whole host of factors contribute, like avoiding micromanagement and facilitating open communication, transparency, and trust among leaders, peers, teams, and individuals. Encouraging wellness is also a crucial part of this endeavor.

“These factors give our employees a real sense of ownership over their careers. And when they feel that they belong to the organization and the organization belongs to them, it makes for a great workplace,” Dhavale said.

“When our employees are happy, it’s reflected in the quality of work they do; we always see this as a win-win situation,” Dhavale said.
