PDEA nabs top illegal drug suspect in Zamboanga City buy-bust

Government anti-narcotics arrested on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 13, an alleged drug pusher in a buy-bust in Zamboanga City.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office IX (PDEA RO IX) said Abdulhan Kallon Burahan was collared at around 3:40 p.m. after selling 50 grams of shabu to an undercover agent in Sunflower Drive, Barangay Canelar.

Acting on a tip from an informer, the PDEA agents and the local police cordoned and positioned themselves in strategic positions in the vicinity where the transaction will be conducted.

After the undercover agent made the signal, the anti-narcotics operatives in the nearby area immediately arrested Burahan after the deal was consummated.

Aside from shabu concealed in 10 transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets, the operatives confiscated the buy-bust boodle money with the P1,000 bill placed on top, two one peso coins and one yellow plastic bag.

Burahan faces charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs act of 2002.’’ (Chito A. Chavez)
