Man arrested for selling firecrackers online

Anti-cybercrime operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested a 24-year old man for selling illegal firecrackers online.

Police Col. Redrico Maranan, chief of the PNP-Public Information Office, said the operation stemmed from confirmed verification that David Carpio has been selling firecrackers that are prohibited based on regulations.

He said Carpio was collared in an entrapment in Sta. Mesa in Manila on Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Seized from him were 200 pieces of oversized 5Star King Kong firecrackers, P7,000 bills, phones and various identification cards.

Maranan said the operation was recorded by two devices allowed by the court.

He said the suspect is now facing charges relating to the Republic Act 7183, or An Act Regulating The Sale, Manufacture, Distribution, and Use of Firecrackers and Other Pyrotechnic Devices in relation to Sec. 6 of RA 10175, or the "Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012".
