CABANATUAN City, Nueva Ecija – A couple was arrested and suspected shabu valued at P409,000 was seized in a buy-bust operation here on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
A report from Col. Richard V. Caballero, officer-in-charge, Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office, said the suspects from Barangay Daan Sarile were arrested at about 9:45 p.m. in Barangay San Juan Accfa after they sold shabu to a police poseur-buyer.
However, the male suspect drew a gun and fired at police officers who retaliated and wounded him in the left leg.
The suspect yielded a homemade caliber 9mm pistol with magazine loaded with four ammunition and 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu. One heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu was seized from his live-in partner.
A total of 60.2 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P409,360 were seized from the suspects.
Suspects, who had been under surveillance, face drug-related charges.
