31 wanted persons in Cordillera nabbed


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Thirty-one wanted persons were arrested in the Cordillera from Dec. 4 to 10 as a result of the intensified anti-criminality campaign, police said Wednesday, Dec. 14.

The Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) said the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) had the highest number of arrests with 13, followed by the Benguet police with seven, Kalinga with six, Ifugao with four, and Abra with one.

Two suspects were listed as most wanted on the municipal level and one on the city level.

Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, Cordillera police chief, said because of the stepped-up police presence and campaign against criminality, 59 municipalities in the region and two police stations of the BCPO recorded zero crime incidents during the period.

In Abra, 23 out of 27 municipalities recorded zero crime incidents, Ifugao, nine; Benguet, seven; Kalinga, six; Apayao, two, and Mountain Province, none.

The BCPO Station 8 (Kennon Road) and 10 (Marcos Highway) logged zero crime incidents.
