The Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO) said they voluntarily surrendered to authorities and underwent the three-month rehabilitation program of the LGU-PNP Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) under Project Kaynga.

Kaynga is a Tingguian term that means “to care.”

The recovery and wellness program was a joint project of the local government unit of Peñarrubia and Peñarrubia police station.

During their graduation ceremony on Dec. 9, they were each given a Certificate of Completion to signify that they have officially completed their rehabilitation.

Present during the ceremony were Col. Maly Cula, provincial police director; Darryl Jane Paz, section chief, DILG-Abra Field Office; Leila Sanchez, assistant provincial officer of the PDEA-Abra; Constante Caoagas, Sangguniang Bayan member of Peñarrubia; Capt. Aldrin Alipio, acting chief of police of Penarrubia; other key officers of the Abra provincial police, and stakeholders.

The program was launched in 2016 in support of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs of the national government.
