BI unveils plans for 2023

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will introduce digital transactions as part of its plans and projects for 2023.

But before the 2022 ends, BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the online waiver visa project will be launched.

The online waiver visa project is good news for foreign nationals as it will serve as a platform to easily prolong their stay in the country.

"This is our way of helping the revival of the tourism industry," said Tansingco.

Tansingco said the e-visa waiver followed the implementation of the electronic transactions and payment of immigration applications as well as the electronic travel processing system.

The e-travel schedule facilitate the exit of arriving passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport as it abolished the filling up of various forms and presentation of arrival and health cards.

Various government offices like the health and justice departments assisted the BI in putting up a unified travel data platform.
