Letran’s three-peat bid in the NCAA suffered a big blow when team captain Fran Yu was suspended following his disqualifying foul committed in Game 2 of the NCAA Season 98 Finals on Sunday, Dec. 11.
For that, the Knights will be without the Tondo-born Yu in the deciding Game 3 of their title series with the College of St. Benilde.
The wily guard was ejected after planting an elbow at Mark Sangco at the 5:29 mark of the second quarter that enabled the Blazers to tie the series following their pulsating 76-71 win at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The rubber match is scheduled on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
