PROCOR’s painting, lantern contests concluded, winners to be announced soon


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera successfully concluded the Painting and Lantern Contest at the Masigasig Grandstand in Camp Major Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

The painting competition was participated by 139 artists from different provinces in Cordillera while the lantern contest was participated in by 20 representatives of the different Police Provincial Offices and units of the Baguio City Police Office.

The winners of the Painting and Lantern Contest will be announced on December 16, after a careful consideration of the panel of judges headed by Myles Bazar, adviser of the PROCOR Officers Ladies Club (OLC), Baguio City Councilor Leandro B. Yangot Jr., Harley Bastian, Richard Curiano, Danny Depnag, Jenny Lorenzo, Eden Cawang, Wreigh Jann Tamayo and Silvino Dulnuan.

Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, regional director, appreciated the talented individuals who joined and presented their artistic skills with their originality and ability to let their imaginations run free.

“Each painting and lantern displayed were unique,” said Bazar.

“I am sure that many of our artists and lantern makers brought and produced something very singular and distinctive to their work,” added Bazar.
