MB Daily News Update: PBBM leads another PH investment roadshow in Belgium

Lawmakers gave the assurance that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos will not sit as chairman of the proposed Maharlika Wealth Fund (MWF), even as amendments have also been made, excluding pension funds Social Security System (SSS) and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) from being sources of funds of the MWF.

The President is scheduled to leave for Brussels, Belgium, for the Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)-European Union Summit, which is expected to boost the country’s stock as an investment destination, among others.

The country has two new attack helicopters that it bought from Turkey, which, according to Malacañang, will contribute to making the Philippine Air Force (PAF) a “world class” military organization.

Meanwhile, a low pressure area (LPA) off the coast of Northeastern Mindanao is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 36 hours.

These are the interesting major stories in the MB Daily News Update this Friday afternoon, Dec. 9, 2022.
