Converge names Delta Pineda as new team manager

Converge isn’t only making sure it is improving inside the court but also outside of it.

The FiberXers bolstered their backend support with the addition of Pampanga governor and known Philippine basketball patron Dennis “Delta” Pineda as their team manager.

Known as “godfather” to most PBA stars who hailed from Pampanga including Arwind Santos, Calvin Abueva and Jayson Castro due to his local basketball programs, Pineda is expected to give the Converge a huge boost as he takes the job off team governor Atty. Chito Salud’s shoulders, who only held the position in concurrent capacity.

“Delta’s abiding love, commitment and passion for the sport of basketball ranks high up among those I have come across in this beloved sport of ours,” said Salud in a statement.

“His long term association and shared passion for basketball with no less than our CEO Dennis Anthony H. Uy, will bring to the team that extra special attention, laser focus and long term strategic thinking championship teams are made of,” he added.

Encho Serrano, Larry Muyang and Justine Baltazar are also some of the young and upcoming players who blossomed under Pineda’s watch.

Aiding Pineda as his assistant is Franzl Jacob Lao who formerly played in high school at La Salle and college with Ateneo, and served as manager of the Fj group which is involved in both restaurant and resort property businesses such as Gloria Maris and Choi Garden.

They will officially assume their positions at the start of the 2022 PBA Governor’s Cup.
