Ex-Jose Rizal University player John Amores revealed that he received some “words of encouragement” from Vice President Sara Duterte.

Amores, who has seemingly started to face the consequences of his actions following his punching spree at the College of St. Benilde bench during a heated game last Nov. 8, posted the envelope containing the Duterte’s letter on his Instagram profile.

“It's my pleasure receiving this kind of gesture from our Dearly VP Sarah Duterte,” captioned Amores on Monday, Dec. 5.

The 23-year-old Amores was recently slapped with a team removal from JRU’s basketball team on top of an indefinite ban from the NCAA.

However, the ex-JRU cager is not only looking at a bleak basketball career at the moment as he’s also facing two separate complaints from different incidents involving his demeanor on the court with other players.

With different sporting bodies and personalities getting involved whether on a technical or personal level, the once embattled Amores has started to pick up the pieces of the rubble he was in.

"Remember the lesson not the mistake, You have a friend from the Office of the Vice President" It was a great honor Mam thank you for those words of encouragement.

"Ps. Ipapa frame ko to as a remembrance na sa daming bashers at negative critics may isang tao na ipapaalala sayo na mahalaga ka kahit di mo kaano ano. I wont lose hope, somewhere in between in the darkest season of my life there's still a light @indaysaraduterte,” the post read.
