Cops net over P556,000 ‘shabu’ in Caloocan City


Operatives from the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) seized a total of P556,240 worth of alleged shabu from a 23-year-old man in Barangay 150, Caloocan City on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Col. Ruben Lacuesta, CCPS chief, identified the suspect as Blue Esperas.

Members of the CCPS-Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), together with the 3rd Mobile Force Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion-National Capital Region Police Office (MFC RMFB-NCRPO), launched the entrapment against Esperas on Moises St. in Brgy. 159 at around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

They confiscated around 80 grams of suspected shabu worth P556,260 and the buy bust-money.

The suspect was brought to the SDEU office for temporary detention while necessary documents for inquest proceedings are being prepared, police said.

Meanwhile, different police stations of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) also arrested 16 drug suspects and confiscated P148,200 worth of alleged shabu in a series of buy-bust operations in the city from Tuesday, Dec. 6, to Wednesday, Dec. 7.

All the suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The QCPD said it will intensify its anti-illegal drug campaign.
