Printing of ballots for Baliuag cityhood plebiscite completed - Comelec


The Commission on Elections (Comelec) finished on Friday, Dec. 2, the printing of ballots and other documents for the plebiscite to ratify the conversion of the municipality of Baliuag into a component city of the province of Bulacan.

Comelec spokesperson Rex Laudiangco said as of 10:59 a.m. on Friday, the poll body, in partnership with the National Printing Office, produced 108,572 official ballots.

Laudiangco said after the printing, sheeting and cutting will commence and then the ballots will be subjected to verification for quality and quantity.

He announced the plebiscite period will be conducted in 27 barangays of Baliuag on Dec. 17.

According to the office of the deputy executive director for operations, there are 591 established precincts and 200 clustered precincts for the plebiscite.

There will also be 26 voting centers on Dec. 17.

Republic Act 11929, which lapsed into law last July 30, provided for the conversion of the municipality of Baliuag into a component city of Bulacan.
